Credit squeeze faced by firms the real threat

THE latest survey on the banking industry showing very strong support for NAMA is probably welcome news for a Government which has taken the biggest gamble in Ireland’s economic history.

Respondents to the latest poll are significantly of the view that NAMA will improve the standing of the Irish economy.

Whether that 80% endorsement of NAMA will be borne out in the coming months remains to be seen, given the uncertainty surrounding some other EU countries, such as Greece, currently on the edge of financial meltdown.
