‘Virtually bankrupt’ US faces a bleak future

JIM Rogers, who was in Dublin this week, left the media and the business people he addressed in no doubt about how he saw the future of the United States.

Mr Rogers co-founded the Quantum Fund, a global-investment partnership in the 1970s. Over 10 years it gained more than 4,000%, and Mr Rogers then decided to retire at 37.

He became a professor at Columbia University and travelled extensively, including through China on a motorbike.
