Cricket supporter wins $5000 with incredible one-handed catch

Cricket fan Andrew McCulloch is $5000NZD better off after making this fantastic catch during a recent match between the Otago Volts and the Northern Knights in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Volt’s Michael Bracewell hit a six that came flying over the boundary near where McCulloch was sitting on the grass watching the game.

He made a hugely impressive run in his bare feet before sliding and catching the ball one-handed, to acclaim from the crowd and commentators.

Thanks to a promotion running in the grounds at the time, the catch earned McCulloch $5000NZD - about €3000.

In a bizarre coincidence McCulloch’s girlfriend is the sister of Michael Bracewell, the cricketer who hit the ball.
