Grizzled trucker shows soft side to deliver on promise to young daughter

What a guy!

Veteran tucker Trent McCain is no slouch when it comes to daddy duties after adorably carrying out the wishes of his young daughter, despite the possibility of a mocking from his colleagues.

Trent’s nine-year-old daughter Joselyn - like most little girls her age - absolutely adores her doll, named Abbie.

Joselyn, of course, sees the doll as her own daughter and a problem arose last week when she needed a babysitter for the day to mind Abbie. After asking her daddy to help out, Trent decided to go all out to make his daughter’s day by posting pictures of him hanging out at work with his ‘granddaughter’.

Speaking on Facebook, Trent said he didn’t want his daughter thinking he’d neglected the doll all day.

“Well being the good "Grandpa" I agree(d) to take her,” read Trent’s post.

“We decided to have a little fun and post pictures of our travels. I didn't want Joselyn thinking I threw Abbie in the sleeper and forgot about her.”

Much to amusement of his colleagues, Trent posted the pictures of his day with Abbie on social media so Joselyn could follow their progress through his rounds transporting grain.

His company, McCain Enterprises, LLC / McCain Trucking and Harvesting, then added the photos to their page and since then they've been shared over 87,000 times on Facebook.

Since the pictures were posted Abbie has become a bit of a celebrity in Atwood, Kansas, even appearing on local radio.
