How to get involved in Bike Week 2026
Bike Week is about nurturing a love of cycling, in an inclusive and welcoming environment
Bike Week is an annual celebration of cycling, encouraging everyone to embrace the bike. Running nationwide from May 9th to 17th, Bike Week offers free events and activities for all cycling levels and abilities.
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or just starting out, there’s something for you: from beginner classes and safety workshops, to BMX experiences and scenic greenway spins.

Bike Week is about nurturing a love of cycling, in an inclusive and welcoming environment. If you have accessibility requirements, there are plenty of beginner-friendly adaptive bike sessions to join. We also have several events that are family- and age-friendly, ensuring that everyone is accommodated.
You’ll have plenty of options to choose from, with hundreds of events happening across the country led by local authorities and sports partners.

You won’t have to travel far to join a Bike Week event. From family-friendly bike festivals, greenway cycles and bike to school days, to community rides and repair workshops, your local Bike Week coordinators have arranged a diverse programme for you to enjoy.
Many Bike Week events provide bikes for hire and maintenance services for bikes in poor condition. If you’re in doubt, you can always ask the event organisers.
