Trump extends Iran ceasefire with Tehran regime ‘seriously fractured’

The effective closure of the vital supply route during the conflict has inflicted a global economic shock and sent energy prices soaring.

US President Donald Trump said he would indefinitely extend the ceasefire with Iran to allow for further peace talks, although it was not ​clear on Wednesday if Iran or Israel, the US ally in the two-month war, would agree.

Mr Trump said the blockade of the country’s ports would remain in force.
