Ceasefire proposal sent to US and Iran as air strikes leave 25 dead

Israel and the United States have carried out a wave of attacks which killed more than 25 people in Iran as mediators circulated a new ceasefire proposal.

Tehran responded with missile fire on Israel and its Gulf neighbours as US President Donald Trump’s deadline for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz loomed.
