US committed to ceasefire after claims of Russia violating Easter truce

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of creating a false appearance of honouring an Easter ceasefire.

The United States’ Department of State said on Sunday that America is committed to “a full and comprehensive ceasefire” between Ukraine and Russia.

Sunday’s statement noted encouraging discussions in the past week in Paris about peace prospects in Ukraine, which US Secretary of State Marco Rubio conveyed in a call to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
