Several injured after car drives into crowd in Munich – police

Several people have been injured after a car drove into a group of people in Munich, German police said.

A major operation is ongoing in the Dachauer Strasse area, the force confirmed.

Authorities did not immediately give a specific number of injuries or provide details about the incident on Thursday.

Police said on social media that the driver was “secured” at the scene and no longer poses any danger.

The operation is taking place near the city's central train station.
