Emirates hails Boeing 777 test flight using ‘sustainable’ aviation fuel

The fuel powered one of the Boeing’s two General Electric engines, with the other running on conventional jet fuel for safety

Long-haul carrier Emirates has successfully flown a Boeing 777 with one engine entirely powered by so-called sustainable aviation fuel.

The test flight comes as carriers worldwide are trying to lessen their carbon footprint.
