Passenger with ‘no idea how to fly’ lands plane after pilot falls ill

“Kudos to the new pilot,” one controller told the passenger after the plane smoothly wheeled down the tarmac.

A passenger in a small plane off Florida’s Atlantic coast managed to land the aircraft after using the cockpit radio to make an urgent plea for help after he realised that the pilot was too sick to handle the controls.

“I’ve got a serious situation here,” the man said.
