Joe Biden announces €735m in new military assistance for Ukraine

Mr Biden also announced that the United States would provide an additional 500 million dollars (€460m) in direct economic assistance to the Ukrainian government

President Joe Biden has announced an additional $800m (€735m) in military aid to help Ukraine fight back in its strong but increasingly difficult battle against the Russian invasion.

But Mr Biden also warned that Congress will need to approve additional assistance if the US is to keep up its support.
