China must persuade Russia to end Ukraine war – US treasury secretary

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has urged China to use its “special relationship with Russia” to persuade Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.

Beijing “cannot expect the global community to respect its appeals to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity in the future if it does not respect these principles now,” Ms Yellen said at the Atlantic Council, a non-partisan think tank.
