Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny describes conditions inside prison

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has said he is subjected to hourly checks during the night in a letter describing the tight controls in his prison.

Mr Navalny’s note posted on his Instagram page confirmed for the first time that he arrived at a prison colony in Pokrov in the Vladimir region, which stands out among Russian penitentiary facilities for its particularly strict regime.
