National Zoo in US capital names its baby panda cub

The National Zoo in Washington DC has finally named its new panda cub three months after the birth.

Officials at the Smithsonian, which runs the zoo, announced on Monday morning that the cub born on August 21 would be named Xiao Qi Ji, which is Mandarin Chinese for “little miracle”.
