Democratic senator condemned by allies for hugging Republican rival

A Democratic senator has come under criticism from her own side after embracing a Republican rival at the close of confirmation hearings on Thursday for President Donald Trump’s US Supreme Court nominee.

Democratic senator Dianne Feinstein of California hugged Republican senator Lindsey Graham at the end of the hearing for Amy Coney Barrett, publicly thanking the chairman for a job well done.
