Democratic Party factions uniting to back Joe Biden at unconventional convention

The Democratic convention will bring together the party’s progressive and establishment wings with the fear of President Donald Trump winning a second term becoming the main unifying and energising theme for the rival factions.

The desire to take back the White House four years after the Republican nominee’s shock victory at the expense of Hillary Clinton has given the party a focus as it prepares to formally nominate Joe Biden for the presidency.
