Sunseekers told to stay away from packed beaches amid UK heatwave
Sunseekers in the UK have been told to avoid some beaches along the southern coast that are packed with people, as Friday saw the hottest August day in 17 years.
By midday, the Coastguard said it had responded to dozens of calls and has urged the public to stay safe on the beach.
