British government to urge Supreme court to allow article 50 without parliament backing

The British government will urge the Supreme Court to rule Theresa May can trigger the process of leaving the EU without the backing of parliament later.

Eleven judges will spend the next four days hearing its appeal against last month’s High Court ruling.
