President-elect Donald Trump is connecting with foreign leaders and considering new cabinet prospects as he gathers with his family for a long Thanksgiving weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

As the incoming president looks ahead, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein made progress on her push to force recounts in three Midwestern battleground states that fuelled Mr Trump's stunning victory.
