Father and son arrested by police investigating fatal shooting of Tyson Gay's daughter
A father and son have been arrested by police investigating the fatal shooting of the 15-year-old daughter of Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay.
Trinity Gay died at a hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, on Sunday after police say she was fatally shot in the neck at around 4am local time during a shootout between people in two parked vehicles in the car park of a nearby restaurant.
Chazerae Taylor, 38, and his 19-year-old son D'Markeo are charged with wanton endangerment over the shooting, Lexington police said in a statement.
Police charged another man, 21-year-old Dvonta Middlebrooks, with the same count and a weapons charge.
Investigators say Middlebrooks was in the car park and fired multiple shots.
Police say they have also found two vehicles involved.
Trinity Gay was a track athlete at Lexington's Lafayette High School.
