Sarah Palin's husband expected to recover in hospital after snowmobile accident

An associate of Sarah Palin's husband, Todd, says he is expected to recover from a snowmobile accident in Alaska that left him in hospital.

Scott Davis, Todd Palin's former snowmobile racing partner, said Mr Palin's father, Jim, told him he was injured and in the hospital but would be okay.

Mr Davis raced for years with Mr Palin in Alaska's annual 2,000-mile Iron Dog snowmobile race.

Donald Trump's presidential campaign said earlier that Mr Palin was "in a bad snow machine accident" on Sunday night.

The campaign said in a statement that the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate is returning home to be with her husband.

In the 2008 Iron Dog, Mr Palin broke his arm in a high-speed crash, but he and Mr Davis still finished in fourth place.
