Girl dies saving two young children from runaway car

A 10 year-old girl from California has been described as a hero after saving two young children from a runaway car - which then hit and killed her.

Kiera Larsen pushed the one year-old boy and two year-old girl out of the way of a vehicle which began rolling down a sloping driveway.

The mother of the two children said Kiera "will forever be my kids' guardian angel".

The father of the saved children, Johnathan Gusich, echoed her sentiments.

"She was a big sister to them, she was always looking out for them, and apparently she would give her life for my kids," he said.
