Train driver dies, seven injured, as passenger service slams into crane in Netherlands

A commuter train has derailed after slamming into a crane crossing the tracks in the Netherlands, killing the train's driver and injuring seven passengers.

Police said they detained the driver of the crane for questioning as part of their investigation into the cause of the crash.
