Francois Hollande seeks to extend state of emergency in France

French President Francois Hollande has announced plans to ask parliament to approve a three-month renewal of the state of emergency put in place after the Paris attacks.

It will be the second time the measure, introduced after the November 13 atrocities which left 130 people dead, has been prolonged.
