Cathedral bells at St. Isaac's tolled 224 times in memory of each person killed.

Meanwhile, It is reported investigators looking into the crash are "90 percent sure" a noise heard on one of its black box recorders was an explosion caused by a bomb.

The Russian government says it has brought home 11,000 of its citizens from Egypt in the last 24 hours.

Reporter Alex Rossi is in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt and he has said the investigation has found the noise of a bomb on the black box.

“What they will have done is spectral analysis of the waveform, they will have compared that to other frequencies, other sounds,” Mr Rossi said.

“And it will be fairly definite I am told that they will reach the conclusion, that it was a bomb.”
