Man dies after 'jumping onto railway line to save woman's life'

An elderly man has been killed by a train in England after reportedly leaping onto a railway line to try to save the life of a woman.

The man, aged in his 70s, died after being struck near Chartham railway station in Kent at around 11am yesterday, British Transport Police (BTP) said.
