Glitter deliberations over for today

The jury trying the case of Gary Glitter has been sent home for the day.

It will return at 10am to continue deliberating over the historic child sex offences the 70-year-old faces at Southwark Crown Court.

Glitter – real name Paul Gadd – is accused of one count of attempted rape, an alternative count of indecent assault on a girl under 10 in 1975.

He also faces four further counts of indecent assault and one count of administering a drug or other thing in order to facilitate sexual intercourse and a further charge of sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13.

It is also alleged that he indecently assaulted a 13-year-old twice when she went to see him in his dressing room after a show.
