Five years in jail for Oscar Pistorius

Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to five years in jail for the negligent killing of Reeva Steenkamp.

In delivering the sentence this morning, which she described as "fair and just to society and to the accused", Judge Thokozile Masipa said the extent of negligence plays an important role in determining a sentence.
