US Ebola patient dies as States monitors travellers for virus

The first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States died today, a little more than a week after his illness exposed gaps in the nation’s defences against the disease and set off a scramble to track down anyone exposed to him.
Thomas Eric Duncan, 42, was pronounced dead at 7.51am local time at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, where he had been kept in isolation since September 28.
