Sarkozy held in corruption probe

Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy is under formal investigation for alleged influence peddling, according to reports.

A judicial official said the 59-year-old was detained for questioning yesterday at the headquarters of the judicial police in the Paris suburb of Nanterre.
