Plane 'flew faster than first thought'; search area shifts 680 miles north

Air crews have begun searching a new area of the Indian Ocean for signs of the missing Malaysian airliner after new radar data analysis suggested the jet flew faster than originally thought.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 would have used up more fuel, which may have reduced the distance it travelled, Australia said.
