Man accused of murdering wife and toddler son in Scotland

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife and two-year-old son.
The bodies of Janet Lockhart, 29, and her toddler Michael were discovered in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, on Saturday night.

British police went to a house in South Chesters Lane at around 8.30pm after a family friend raised concerns.
Garry Lockhart appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court where he was charged with two counts of murder.
The 32-year-old made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear before the court again next week.
