TV weatherman bailed on sex charge
TV weatherman Fred Talbot has been bailed after his second arrest for alleged historic sex abuse.
The 63-year-old was held yesterday on suspicion of indecent assaults and buggery in relation to five former pupils at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys in Greater Manchester.
He was also held on suspicion of indecent assault in relation to offences alleged to have occurred in the North East.
The celebrity meteorologist was detained on April 9 on suspicion of historic sex offences in relation to allegations of abuse against four pupils when he was a teacher at the school.
He has been bailed today until January 27 and remains on police bail in relation to one count of indecent assault relating to his first arrest.
No further action has been taken in relation to the other alleged offences for which he was originally arrested.
Talbot is best-known for his work on ITV’s This Morning programme in the 1980s and 1990s.
He presented the weather on ITV’s Granada Reports but has not appeared on the show since the claims emerged.
