Costa Concordia pulled free from reef

Salvage teams have succeeded in wresting the hull of the shipwrecked Concordia from the Italian reef where it has been embedded since it capsized in January last year.

Engineer Sergio Girotto said the crippled vessel would not budge for three hours after the operation to right it began.
