Couple's wedding cost £1
A couple have held their wedding for just £1.
Artist Georgina Porteous and singer/songwriter Sid Innes managed to avoid spending thousands on their big day by holding their nuptials in a barn behind their home, while their only expense was the bride's dress – a £1 purchase from Freecycle, a site which matches people who have things to get rid off with those who can use them.
Georgina made the couple's rings out of antlers she found in her garden, and her mother, who is a church reader, directed the ceremony.
The minister conducted the service for free, while Georgina's aunt baked the pair a cake and was the official photographer.
Georgina is quoted by Metro as saying: "The day is supposed to be about marrying the person you love. We didn't want or need a big, fancy affair."
However, the couple couldn’t get out of paying £70 marriage fees, however.
