Earthquake strikes off Canada's Vancouver island

An earthquake measuring 6.2 in magnitude has struck off Canada's Vancouver island.

The U.S. Geological Survey has said it was a shallow quake that took place less than a mile below the seabed.

It is not yet known whether anyone was hurt.
