Million cockroaches escape from farm in China

A million cockroaches have escaped from a farm in China.

Disease control officials have dispatched five investigators to the region of Dafeng in the eastern province of Jiangsu in order to wipe out the creepy crawlies after they fled a greenhouse they were being kept in when someone destroyed part of it, the Modern Express newspaper reports.

Wang Pengsheng, who owns the farm where they were housed, could be set to lose thousands as a result of their escape.

The cockroaches are thought to have fled to nearby cornfields.
