Study finds recession affects mentally ill more than rest of population

Unemployment is hitting the mentally ill twice as hard as it is the general population, according to research carried out by online journal Public Library of Science 'ONE'.

The study, carried out among 20,000 people in 27 countries across Europe shows those with mental health problems have been disproportionately affected by the recession.
