Murdoch welcomes opportunity to give evidence again

The News Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch has welcomed the opportunity to give evidence to a British House of Commons committee, for a second time.

It follows the emergence of a tape, allegedly of him, talking to journalists at News International, criticising the investigation into corrupt payments to officials.

It is not known if or when he might appear.

A statement said "Mr Murdoch looks forward to clearing up any misconceptions as soon as possible."
