Apple unveils new look for iPhone and iPad

An overhaul of the iPhone and iPad operating system has been hailed by its design chief as a new beginning for the technology giant.

Jonathan Ive promised iOS7, which will be available in the autumn, would take the company in an "important new direction" as he showcased the system at Apple's annual World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco.
