UN seek €3.9bn aid for Syria

The United Nations is launching its biggest humanitarian appeal ever, seeking US $5.2 billion (€3.9bn) to fund relief operations for Syria until the end of the year.

The figure presented at an international conference in Geneva today is a sharp increase from the US $3bn (€2.2bn) the global body had previously estimated it would need this year.
