A US air force F-15 fighter jet has crashed into the Pacific off the southern Japanese island of Okinawa after the aircraft developed problems in flight.

A US air force F-15 fighter jet has crashed into the Pacific off the southern Japanese island of Okinawa after the aircraft developed problems in flight.

The pilot ejected from the jet and was recovered safely.
