Honeymoon couple return to 'Mr Blobby House'
A honeymoon couple returned to find their home painted in pink and white spots.
The groom's brother, Russell O'Rourke, 35, planned the prank in revenge for a similar hoax he experienced while he was away on a romantic trip in Barbados six years ago, which saw his sibling, Steve, build a four foot wall across the centre of his driveway.
Russell is quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying: "The neighbours were coming out asking what I was doing painting their house. I reckon there were hundreds of people stopping and taking pictures. Even the police were slowing down to take a look.”
Steve and his new wife, Hayley, discovered their newly designed house after spending two weeks on the Greek Island of Rhodes but insist they have no plans to repaint their terraced property in South End, Essex, which has now gained the name "the Mr Blobby House".
Steve, 32, said: "I was expecting something in reply, but this is tenfold worse than the driveway. When we built the wall at Russell’s, even the postman wasn’t able to gain access. I rendered the wall and wrote ‘just married’ on it. It was very civilised, I thought.
“He had to knock it down because no one could get in or out - his drive was like a compound.”
Steve and Russell are both self-employed builders and are planning an even bigger prank for their older brother, David, who is due to get married next year.
Russell added: “People need to watch this space to see what happens to his house next year.”
