Message in a bottle ' found 28 years later'

A message in a bottle has apparently been found 28 years after it was sent.

The note - a love letter from a man called Jonathon, from Canada, to his girlfriend Mary - was discovered in Croatia by a group of kite surfers who nearly chucked the bottle away until one of them realised there was a message inside.

The love letter reads: "Mary, you really are a great person. I hope we can keep in correspondence.

"I said I would write. Your friend always, Jonathon. Nova Scotia '85."
