Police lift alert at Boston airport; alert not related to bombings

Authorities at Boston's Logan Airport have said a security incident on a passenger jet was not related to yesterday's bombings.

US Airways Flight 1716 from Philadelphia landed and could be seen on the tarmac with a piece of luggage beside it.

An official has confirmed that the bag had not been checked before departure and that security wanted to look at it.

The alert has since been lifted.
