Policeman's son fakes his own kidnapping to avoid parent-teacher meeting

The son of a Spanish police officer faked his own kidnapping to avoid a parents' evening.

The 11-year-old boy texted his father to tell him he had been taken from the street when he was putting out rubbish and later called him to say he was in the boot of a blue Seat car, which sparked the start of a nationwide search that even extended to Portugal, the Guardian newspaper reports.
