Egypt army chief calls for talks on national unity

The head of Egypt's army has called the country's political leaders to attend talks on national unity - as thousands continue to demonstrate outside the Presidential Palace in Cairo.

Emotions are running high as President Morsi has called a referendum on Saturday on a draft constitution.

The Palace is being protected by a row of tanks - and a metal and concrete barricade.
