Savile believed to have information which 'gave him a hold' over staff
The former British Health Minister who appointed Jimmy Savile to his taskforce role at Broadmoor believes he had information "which gave him a hold" over staff.
Edwina Currie believes it could explain why they said nothing - even if they had suspicions about him.
She said that ministers were never made aware of any misbehaviour which would have had him barred from the high-security psychiatric hospital.
