Cat running for mayor

A Canadian cat is running for mayor.

Tuxedo Stan has launched a campaign to run for mayor in the country's town of Halifax, and he is hoping to raise awareness about the number of stray felines in the Halifax Municipal Region.

The moggy even has a motto – "A chicken in every pot and a litter box in every house" - to go with his campaign, which has even got some of the local councillors worried.

Waye Mason, Halifax councillor candidate, wrote on twitter: "I'm just glad I'm not running against Tuxedo Stan. He is everywhere these days."
